Prevost dash heat question.
Not related to converter heat.
Cathie wants to know why the passenger side of the coach is always colder than the drivers side, especially when we’re running driver (front of coach) heat.
I’ve got the front louvers closed. I would think the heat would be somewhat balanced coming from the dash.

I cannot remember my XL very well, but I seem to recall it is similar to my current coach in that I have more outlets for heat and air on the driver’s side. On my side I have one on the side panel that is used to defog the side window, plus low on the dash I have 3 more. The ones toward the center could be directed towards the passenger, but they are closer to the driver so would be less effective for the passenger.
On the passenger side I only see two outlets, and only one on the dash can actually benefit the passenger, with the second one aimed from the lower portion of the side cabinet forward towards the dash and the side window. I think it is simply a matter of not enough outets for the passenger.

Remember as well Prevost side is designed for the driver for seated coaches. They dont have a passanger seat, therefore it is designed for cooling the driver……

available= 4 each blower; some of mine were capped off. Lower one by your right foot should have a mechanical flapper on it. Bob

Although I haven’t had any complaints from my passenger (she’s usually on the couch, though) on the current coach, she did complain of lack of cooling on the right side of our 1989 Marathon equipped with dash air. I had a custom vent outlet fabricated to cause the defroster vent on the extreme right side to blow toward the passenger and it did help. As I recall, even with the controls set to minimize defrost, quite a bit of air still goes that route. I’m sure it can be fixed by some custom re-engineering of outlets.

I would like to purchase the same altimeter as the one in the pic in the above post from Buddy. They don’t seem to be used much anymore, but I think LIBERTY used them later than most converters . I had them in my previous prevost’s . Called LIBERTY on two different occasions but never returned my call. Any ideas would be appreciated.

GPS and cell phone APS give a much more accurate altitude.
The one liberty used to use was fine for the day and relied on barometric pressure and required periodic setting.
IMHO it is oblolete in this day and age, but might be desired as a “nostalgia” item.

Correct Tom, but it shows what’s possible. Notice the other 2 vents in the dash for the passenger that Liberty and/or Prevost provided.

Thanks for the reply Jim,and you are correct. However my last to Prevo’s had the same one, all thou I had to have them installed. We enjoyed the fact my wife and kids could see from couch etc. Yea certainly outdated, but kind of like eye glasses and contacts. You guessed it I have eye glasses. lol.

Tom is was talking about the altimeter. Not the vents, our coach has no problem staying cool up front.
