There is strength in numbers. And our discount programs prove that. Only Prevost Community has the large base of members needed to secure the various discount programs.

And now for the folks attending the rally we have two things going on exclusively for attendees.

On Thursday afternoon Brian of Profit Tools will be at our rally to answer questions about the fuel and Michelin tire discount program and he will be able to sign up members immediately if you haven’t already taken advantage of those discount programs.

Another great opportunity for rally attendees is the fantastic battery discount program only available to attendees. Look at the headline today and follow the link to see the special pricing. Those are great prices thanks to our own Tom and Lifeline. If your batteries are aging out or beginning to fail do not pass up this opportunity to buy batteries at prices not available anywhere else.

If you are a member of any of the Prevost social groups don’t hesitate to tell your friends about Prevost Community and the benefits of becoming a member. We are not asking anyone to make Prevost Community their exclusive internet site for all things Prevost, but to consider Prevost Community a supplement to other groups. And make sure your friends know all the benefits are free of charge because our sponsors are the ones supporting Prevost Community. Let them know you saw their ad here on PC.

Wondering if we have the clout to ask Direct TV to improve things for those of us on the road.

If we had the clout to do that, I suspect we would have the clout to get them to have a real person answer the phone on the first ring.

I have switched to Dish for the bus and so far the service has been pretty good. What I like is the plan that allows me to “pause” and “unpause” as I need the service. I only pay for the time I use it and can turn it off and on. It’s more expensive than Direct, but I had to switch to Dish due to my sat dome installation.

With my recent run-in with DirecTV I would not ever consider them and would steer anyone considering them away. They simply don’t have a reasonable person on their staff. They delivered a system that would not work with my coach’s system. Even when asked if I needed a receiver with the requisite data channel they said no. We took off on our extended trip and later discovered our satellite system was not compatible with the changes DirecTV made to their system. I paid for the months of service I never used and refused to pay the early termination fee given they never delivered an operation receiver. Finally, I gave in and paid their collections agency. Keep in mind I was a DirecTV residential customer for several years and that didn’t matter to them either.

    Just say NO to DirecTV!

Murph, a live person may answer that number but they seem NOT to be impowered to make decisions.

Had a problem at the house with DTV. The Tech that worked the problem was surprised at the level of poor customer service on the RV side of the company. Said there was no reason why I was not allowed to do the things I have done for the last 8 years. He had no route to solving the problem however. SOS

On a trip last year our Direct TV puked. I did all the things you are supposed to do to reboot it and finally went to the menu and got the error code message.

After explaining it to several phone answerers all I learned was the receiver was beyond repair. After convincing Direct TV they could bring the new receiver where we were (which was changing daily) they decided to addrress it when when got home.

When we got home they agreed to send a repairman who pushed a few buttons to allow the receiver to download a software upgrade and life was good again. The only problem was a software download was likely interrupted and the receiver just needed to be told to repeat the download. The service guy was upset with the phone people because he said they read stuff from a list and are not trained. If it is not on the list they cannot deal with it so they blame everything else from the dish to the power outlet.

We went through the same gyrations when a receiver failed in the house due to something burning inside (you could smell the burned up internals) yet the telephone talker wanted me to check the outlets, antenna, go to another outlet, etc. I got even. I turned her over to Di who is a whole lot nicer than me and after almost an hour and a half the Direct TV telephone talker agreed the receiver was dead. She made Di go through 100% of their list, ignoring the fact the unit had burned until her list was completed.

The same applies to everything nowadays so it is not just Direct TV. No wonder we try to buy stuff as cheap as possible because we know if it has a problem the easiest thing to do is junk it and start again.

My Niece just worked for Direct TV for several months and bailed out. She and everyone else in their customer service worked from home. So when you call and get a customer no service person, they are likely to be working from home and reading from a computer screen and when they get to the end of their options, you’re heading to the next level person also working at home that knows a little more until you get tranferred to the next level.

If you had that clout with Direct we would all pay homage. 😀
