I just had the level 3 service done at Prevost Goodlettsville.

The tech showed me how to run the light check. Also, I can pull up ALL codes for:

    -Engine ECU

    -Transmission ECU

    -Brake ECU

    -Instrument ECU

    -Vehicle ECU

    -ACB ECU

    -Afterburner ECU

    -Electric ECU

    And more……

I can turn on the radiator fan on full speed from the dash menu. Wow, so electronic!

I can pull up codes, take a picture and discuss it with the tech over the phone.

I was impressed. I thought the Diagnostic section was just for techs but he gave me the code to do it myself.

The tech ran a ‘check’ for all the pumps in the coach which checked out fine then he ran a ‘check’ for all the electrical components which also checked out fine. Amazing.

    Safe travels,

    Mark

PS. There were two recalls that were available for the Afterburner system module and one for the chassis computer module. The tech told me that 90% of the updates are for parameter adjustments. Whether ours was for that I’m not sure but it’s done.

    Mark,

How much fuel do you use when you turn on the afterburner, and are you still able to stay below 500 feet?

I am 100% for technology that makes sense and that does not control our lives, intrude on our privacy, or cost more than its value.

I recently read how auto manufacturers are using data collected about you, where you go, how you drive, where you shop, etc. as a new revenue stream because they sell all the data collected. Does everyone like that technology? How do you like your phone, new TVs, and other devices tracking you?

I like multiplex electrical systems on our coaches, I like powerful engines in cars that get high fuel mileage, I like the ability to teach my cars to open multiple garage doors. I love our microwave oven. I dislike Fakebook.

What are you talking about Per? 500 ft?…we were up so high I could see the curvature of the earth! LOL!

When the guy was running the check for the pumps, it would beep after each pump was checked. The sound came from the engine compartment.

Jon, I agree 100% with your assessment of invasion of privacy. Seems like when new technology comes along to make our lives more convenient, receive faster information, etc., there are negative aspects that come along with it.

I forgot to mention, the code for the Diagnostic section is not set from the factory.

Just hit ‘enter’ as the code is set at 0 0 0 0.

PS.. Correction. The Diagnostic is called “Aftertreatment ECU” not Afterburner… sorry.
