Prevost and the virus situation
In my former life my company did business with a lot of Transportation firms. Once I retired I did Long Haul driving every summer. I enjoy driving. As a businessman I always followed the transportation industry. That industry is usually a leading indicator of the economy. Trucker Radio on Sirius has a show on the weekends called transport topics. They discuss transportation in general including rail and ship. Sometimes it is boring. Yesterday they had a guest from the ABA. American Bus Association. His industry is decimated. They are not eligible for the big hand outs from Trump. Many of the Assoc. members are ma and pa charter companies. Many lease or sell Entertainment buses. He predicts that they cannot survive for very long. I started to think that this will also affect the bus mfrs. and converters Greyhound, Mega and a few others are still operating but the rest are out of business for now. They sure will not be buying any new units for awhile. Prevost may have deep pockets but Volvo’s truck business is also suffering. Prevost RV bus brokers must also be hurting. Perhaps the new high end units may sell but who is buying say 2008 Marathons right now? These markets will not turn around quickly. When the health scare is over the economy will still suck. Probably a big recession. Time will tell.

I am not going to take issue or dispute anything you said. However, I am choosing to stay positive as I can until I can’t. I am the owner of a small production company that specializes in high end corporate events and productions. Basically huge meeting, conventions and trade shows. As of last Friday, according to national reports 90% of the folks in my world were unemployed. Several of my local competitors have laid off everyone. I have 20 full time employees and about 75 part- time employees who are like family to my wife and I…. I am not going to give up until I have no other options. In my opinion attitude makes a big difference. We just moved into a custom designed/built, 3mil + facility last week… great time for an expansion right? Well the good news is we self-financed it.
Beyond doing the right things like social distancing and all that… I can’t do anything to control Covid-19 However, I have 100% control of my attitude.
Hang in there, I am pretty sure the World isn’t ending….and if it is…I am going out with a smile and I’m driving my 07 Marathon until she won’t go…
