Allows aux air to flow after 70 psi of brake tank pressure is achieved. I just replaced mine. Assures you have brake tank pressure in case of a catastrophic failure.

Art,
If you go to page 17 of the document listed below it gives a brief description of protection valves, some of which function as a check valve and some that do not. Without looking to verify this I believe the one we use is the PP-3 and it has an internal check valve.

Mine has Bendix PR-2 pressure protection valves. Here’s a manual for the PR-2, PR-3, and PR-4.

I want to replace both the PR- 2 Pressure protection valves and also the one way valves on the Primary and the secondary tank I can tell they have never been changed, any thing else that I should change? I’ve got a good drawing on the air system it shows those check but no part numbers, does anyone have part numbers on those 2 check valves on the tanks and PR- 2 pressure protection valves? Has anyone checked with Prevost to see if the PR- 2 valves have been changed to a PR- 3 valve ??

Just did ours…bought the parts at Fleet Pride. The primary tank check valve was relatively easy. To access the secondary tank (without being on a lift) you’ll have to be somewhat of a contortionist, and may have to loosen and slide the tank a few inches. Tanks now hold pressure for a week plus. Photo attached.

Here is a picture of mine looks like a 90degree valve #15570164. Found 1 website with this # and it said no longer available? Maybe I will have to put a brass 90 in ant then check valve?

Art, I just emailed you a schematic of various valves that Prevost uses. For some reason I’m unable to attach it here. They indicated that our coach also used 90 degree check valves on the primary and secondary tanks but in our case that’s incorrect.
