To each his own… I’ve been using the Pressure Pro’s now for 5 years without a hitch and probably have somewhere in the 60 – 70K mile range using the product. Common sense is the key, don’t hang them on 4″ extension without support, check the rubber washer annually or just replace it, compare the monitor pressure with a gauge and don’t let anyone beat the shit out of them with a wash brush or buffer.

The system works, but you have to use common sense and judgement. Just think about how many times over the years you’ve seen people with tire problems that don’t even own a tire gauge or have crazy valve stem setups that are just begging for failure. Just ask the question for fun, have you weighed your coach and determined what tire pressure to use and when was the last time you checked them? Or, is your tire pressures part of your pre-trip and do you check them while enroute?

For less than the price of a single tire, you have a layer of protection just by pushing buttons and it works full time while driving. Most of the time people don’t want to take the time and effort to do the valve stems properly to use the sensors.

Gary – 365’s require the same short fill through that Jon uses because of the very small valve stem hole. So if the sensor is not properly tightened and backs off the extension, what happens, nothing, you get a low tire alert on the monitor, but the tire still has full pressure.

i had the TST 507 system with internal monitors installed. We tried everything to get it to work. Best we could accomplish was monitoring of 3 of the 8 tires. Getting new tires in the next few weeks and all remnants of the TST POS system are going in the dumpster. I am going to stick with the schrader valves.

I have about 8,000 miles on my Pressure Pro and have had much better seal on the stems than with regular caps. I can avoid the extension with Tom’s super tool but some wheels may require a short extension. Prevost tells me they can add their system to an older coach. Just takes $$$$.

Here’s a good example of what I was talking about, common sense. This tire did fail even after I brought this to the owners attention who did nothing, very expensive repair along side the interstate.

A good review on the Beru Tire Monitoring System from Prevost…

I talked to Gaeton Buldoc, at a Liberty rally about installing the Beru system on my coach, after much research on his part, and I really appreciate that, it was found to be cost prohibitive. Gary

I am an early adopter on the Pulse monitor (Thanks Tom). There have been some range problems with the initial batch of units. PP finally has a fix, and they are exchanging all the early units. The fix consists of some internal changes to the monitor and a remote antenna which you locate a few feet from the unit. Supposedly the wire connecting the new antenna is very thin and flexible. I think it will be a better installation with the remote antenna.

I have not gotten my replacemrnt unit yet, but it is on its way.

I will try to post a follow up.

    John,

You should have called me, I would have taken care of all that for you, didn’t know you had trouble. We have replaced all the early antenna’s and they seem to have fixed the problem.

Let me know if I can help.

Being new to Prevost but having used Pressure Pro in the past can anyone tell me or post pictures of the proper way to mount the senders on the valve stems. As I see it, extenders must be used on some of the wheels due to space constraints.

Tom may spank me for answering because I still don’t have my Pressure Pro, but my free advice is to not use valve stem extensions unless it is vital. Tom has a tool that works with the inner drive axle tire valve stem so no extension is needed there. On the outer drive wheels, have the valve stem rotated so it points in such a way that you can install the sensor and fill the tires if required. On the steer and tag if you have 365 tires the wheels may not accept the sensor on the stem due to the small recess for the valve stem, and in that case sometimes a very short extension is required.

Well it appears that the kinks have been worked out inregards to wiring, antenna and signal strength. I have had mine since February. I reallike my current model with the exception of the large and somewhat bulky screen.

In order to convert, is it still just a matter of switching out monitor to the smaller screen or do other modifications need to be made? Any idea what the transition cost will run on these two scenarios?

    Tommy,

The Pulse is plug and play using your existing sensors and repeater.
