Polishing Aloca Wheels
I know we covered this before but I can’t seem to find the thread… I have aloca wheels I think they are coated but I haven’t been able to confirm that yet.. either way now that I have my nice new shiny caps… the wheels need some love. I also spent the last two days getting the cores and equal stuff worked out so I am not interested in anything the involves tearing the tires down.
If I find they are coated… has anyone stripped them down and started over? say with some fine steel wool or something like that…

Bill, if they’re coated, they will never be as shiny as your hub caps.

In 98/99 they weren’t coated. It’s easy enough to tell. Use some aluminum polish on a small area. If the application sponge/rag turns black they are not coated. I think the Alcoa web page may also have this information.

I think by ’04 or so it was at least an option. Because the coated wheels never are shiny(of course you don’t have to polish em twice a year either) at least Liberty is offering chrome wheels. A pretty pricey option though.

Hey Bill, I put new rims on my coach a few months back. The company’s name was Image Driven the owner is Brent Adams 949-903-5500 They do an exchange. They can chrome yours or just trade yours in. I’ll try to find there web site and post it tomarrow. It is expense but at least no more polishing at $50 a piece . I tell you what I paid but if Judy finds out from this post I’m a dead duck!! You know what I mean??
