PLM LOCATION MARATHON 40
All,
I’m replacing my salon Penguin heat pump with the newest model, but do not have 12v at the control wires coming up to that particular unit (Galley and BR have power). Marathon has been great as always, but we can’t find the location of the PLM boards that are used for the control power same as Cruisair. I was told these should be housed in gray electrical type boxes about 6x6x3 inches. Can’t find them behind the bumper, in the curbside/DS bays or rear closet.
Can anyone tell me what they look like exactly. I’ve been pulling panels all evening to trace wires, but have lost them in the overhead where they cannot be accessed any further. I’m thinking there must be a small 2 amp fuse in the PLM to get my 12v back.
FYI. The new Dometic heat pump does not have the connector for external temp sensor or the load shed connectors on the circuit board, though we believed it would. Hate to switch out a brand new circuit board, but looks like it may be required.

Assuming you have some removable panels in the forward bays, they may be located there. If I remember, I had 2 located behind the panel for the gen battery on my 02. Are you certain you actually have the PLM’s since yours has roof airs?

Thanks for the reply. Marathon/ Coberg (Dave Bass and Jeff) could not find our wiring diagrams in the file, and the electrical location guide in our owner’s manual showed PLMs under the bumper, but maybe that is just generic placement. Joe at Marathon, FL. thought it would be curbside rear. After removing several ceiling lights and closet panels to trace everything, he was correct. I wouldn’t call this a PLM, but a distribution buss? See picture. None the less, it was a 2 amp fuse as I had expected.
FYI on roof air units for the older coaches. Our old 4 button thermostats had a/c unit circuit boards that incorporated taps for remote temp sensor and load shed. I was sent single zone 15K units with built-in circuit boards (Dometic 651916) that are not really compatible. I will need to change the control boards.
Dometic 651816 is the 15K heat pump that has factory installed control board that will hook up to all the factory telephone cables for the T-stat and also has the control panel connections for remote internal/ external temp sensors, plus spades for the load shed.
