  • Placed an order with Prevost today… I liked it!

Anytime you have something with a few years on it, no wife jokes please, it’s always guess work if they’ll have the part or not? But not with Prevost!

I was lurking around the engine compartment the other day, hey I was lonely! Actually I had a problem bringing the coach home from Texas and was big eyeing around to see if I could find anything loose or in need of attention. And you know, there was this girl I knew once! Oops sorry, that’s for another forum…

Above the engine is a “large gray box cabinet looking thingy”, sorry for getting so technical, with a bunch of electric components in it. Everything looked in order so I blew it out with a can of air and closed it up. When I first opened the “large gray box cabinet looking thingy”, one of the two screws that held the door up was missing. I tried Lowe’s and they didn’t have it and they sent me to another place who also didn’t have it and that led me to Prevost.

The parts line was answered by a very friendly and one could even say humorous young lady. That frankly irritated me because as most of you have figured out by now, I’m a very serious and reserved person! Be that as it may, I explained what I needed, she asked for the last four of my vin number and bodda-bing-bodda-boom (hey Jimmy, that’s not a song or a show tune so butt out) :). I’m $15.00 poorer but my part is on the way…

I didn’t expect to find the problem I’m having with the coach and no surprise I didn’t! But I’m taking the coach to Clark Power Services in Knoxville, TN on Wednesday to have them check it out. From my explanation they think its a relay. I was happy to find they have 8V92 specialist, he’s on vacation this week of course but they were confident the other guys could handle it. It also gives me another reason to drive the coach!!!

Hey Jon and Tom, with what we have to pay for membership to this forum you guys should at minimum reimburse us for fuel costs related to repair travel situations! Can you guys get behind me on this?

Most of you are probably thinking about now “Hey Harry, why didn’t you just give us the paragraph about the order and not put us through all this other craziness”? And the only answer is “why not indeed”!

Harry, you clearly did not read the fuel reimbursement program rules.

We provide double the fuel costs in exchange for use of your coach. I can assure you I will not only provide a replacement for all the fuel I use, I will also pay you an equal amount of (monopoly) dollars.

I have always wanted to go off roading in an XL, I would like to race against motorcycles on the Dragon, I would like to see if it will actually fit under the stone bridges on parkways, and I wondered how long it would last parked in the Bronx with the keys in it.

    Drop it off any time.

Just the head, Harry. Not the whole horse.
