piper down…
bag piper, or really just a bag. just outside of kansas city. have what i am thinking is a leaking air bag. it will air up, but i can hear it leaking.
does anyone know a good prevost shop in kansas city? i am thinking i can get the 40 miles from the campground into that area, so no need for a roadside repair.
of course the irony is jeff and i just talked about my next visit and adding bags to the list just due to the age of our coach. guess we need to do it sooner. and in the middle of a trip at that.

Charles: Please don’t let anyone crawl under the coach. Even to “just look”. It must be supported first. Good luck in getting it fixed.

dick, no reason to look… you can hear it just standing next to it. that why i want to get it into kansas city and into a shop, rather then on a gravel campsite 😉

Contact made….. Charles is off I-70 exit # 49 Higgensville MO. about 50 miles east of KC.
We have Plan A and Plan B.
Off the highway and safe for the night. Arrangements made for mobile truck service will inspect the rapid air leak rear of bus in day light before going back on I-70.
Arrow Stage Lines has a certified Prevost tech on staff. They do outside customer work on Prevost as needed which is straight down the road off I-70 about 30 miles away.

al, the mobile guy will be out later today to get me a better idea of what the issue is. from there we can make a decision on what to do (fix it here, or get it into kansas city to arrow or odel).
karl, the drivers side is (side with issue) was on the upper side of a slight slant. was able to manually level it and the rest of the system is holding.

If you are sure you know which bag is leaking you can have it overnighted to you by Prevost. To replace any of the air bags you almost need to have the chassis fully raised and if that cannot be done it likely has to be jacked under the chassis support point(s).
Don’t under estimate how much of a pain that can be, and it might require multiple jacks and some four letter words. If you are able to get it to a shop with lifts the time involved will be less because the lift(s) can raise it high enough to get supports beneath the chassis.
Take it easy driving it so you don’t damage anything, and be aware of ground clearances if you have to go up a driveway because you generator baffle and some other low hanging stuff could be at risk.
You might be able to use the manual part of the level low to help keep the coach off the bottom bumpers that are internal to the air bags. They were not intended to allow driving on them.

after inspection, airbag is fine. turned out to be a spring vavle in air system. got it to the shop and theynarempullomg the vavle to make sure they get the correct part and will hopefully be replaced and on the road today.

When you said you were able to manually level I thought your problem was other than an air bag and glad your getting fixed up.
Don’t forget to go by Al’s place, he has DI water and always furnishes a wash job to anyone at or near KC.
