  • Photos of Added Fitting to Manually Air Up Coach ?

Posted by Jeff on November 10, 2019 at 11:06 am

Might anyone have a photo(s) of how you have modified the manual chassis air fill valve located inside the engine side door to accommodate both the original schrader valve AND a full size female compressor fitting so a double male could be built whereby one could more easily fill the coach air tanks using a portable shop compressor? The female fitting I am trying to describe is the female fitting found on one end of a typical air supply hose.

Forgot to include this photo of the existing Prevost supplied air valve for filling the air tanks using a home portable shop air compressor.

That one is a whole coach fill point, and in the steer compartment is another for accessory air fill only. I have changed them to use shop air quick connect fittings so I can just plug in an air line from a compressor instead of using a tire chuck. Each is equipped with a 90 degree ball valve so in addition to the quick connect fitting sealing the valve also shuts off potential air leakage.

Make a double male fitting adapter to use between the shop air hose and the chassis quick connect fitting. I remove the adapter from the fitting after use.
