Ive never been there, but have eyed it a couple times passing through JAX and figured if I were to stay in the area, I would check it out.
Flamingo Lake RV Resort. It’s on the north west side of the perimeter near the airport. Kind of away from downtown JAX and the beaches. From driving by it looked clean, flat and roomy.
If you are active/retired armed services, there is pelican roost rv park in the mayport naval facility

We stayed at Flamingo last month on our way back to Nashville. We will never stay there again. Just our opinion. One side of the lake is paved with very tight sites mostly filled with residents and long term folks. The other side (where the vast majority of the short term/transients are located) is all gravel, very dusty, and very tight as well. The gravel side also provides the parking area for the lakes beach which is frequented by local non-campers in season – can you say lotsa more dust??. Everyone was friendly, but some of the office staff not so much. Lots of interstate road noise too. Our coach had a pretty deep dust/dirt camo inside & out adding a “mature” look to the wash & wax I had done the week before we went in. No refunds, so don’t plan to leave early with a refund if you aren’t happy with your site. We were the only Prevost there.
We visited a couple of places while we were in the Jax area, just so we would have a better idea of places next time we come thru. The one that we thought was much better than Flamingo (after Prevost if you need something done) was Pecan Park RV Resort. http://www.pecanparkrvresort.com Stopped in the office & picked up a cg map & did a drive thru. Very friendly and seemed very accomodating. All pads were concrete, most level, paved roads – roads & sites a little narrow, but manageable. Saw one or two Prevosts on the drive thru. Clean & well kept. Most likely our choice next time in Jax.

If you are staying several days, Kathryn Hanna Park http://www.coj.net is nice 1/4 mile from the beach, shaded sites. About 5 miles off the I295 loop north east of the city so not a quick in/out stop.

so sounds like the best plan of action is to schedule work at Prevost and stay there :). My brother is out at the JAX beach area and figured I would give flamingo a try based on what I could see from 295.

You can stay at a Prevost service center w/o having work done as long as there is room. Geo.

One thing silent in the discussion is a place to stay may not be required to have power or hookups.
I still stick with my original post. Regardless of if a site is available or not Prevost is a secure place to stay. I would have no issue with cranking up my generator and running it for the duration because fuel is cheap now and the generator needs exercise anyway. As a bonus maybe there would be a site you could use, but my primary objective would be the sense of security the locked gates provide.

Stayed at Pecan Park RV in Jacksonville. A very large RV park appox 1/4 mile off I-95 exit mile marker # 366.
Site #108 which was a long pull through. I did unhook the toad at check in as we needed to run an errand but there is enough room to stay hooked up if your just an overnight, no tree issues.
Also a fairly new Loves at mile marker 366 with large lay out, roomy pull thru pump lanes and parking lot
