If the park brake valve or air lines , or fittings where leaking could that effect both primary and secondary gauges to loose pressure what do you guys think ??????? I thought it was only hooked to secondary gauge!!!!!!

Peter, I am shooting from the lip here so do not trust what I say unless you can verify it.

    I believe both are affected.

Is a control valve actuwation device.then—— to the top(by contol air line) of a R-14 in rear differential compartment that releases a lower section of that r-14 supplied by big line from tank. which distribuits the air to the e-brakes–couple of other things go on there but that is basic. With E- brake set no air should pass or bleed back past the push pull in front. and as I mentioned the function of the r-14 in rear supplied by your primary side(brake side of system) top to bottom inside r14? in some case there was a seperate r-14 to disable e-brakes on tags when they were lifted. TMIFO AIR GHOST .
If the whole system is droping both sides are droping look past control side. fwiw.

Good question, I suspect my problem is the R-14 as well. My understanding is if you lift the tag axle and your brake tanks don’t leak down it points to the R-14.

    Jon?

Is just like any type unit air operated to mechanacial actuation back to air= in the end— back to air use. just like a switch to change a function.. could be elect over hydraulic—-air over hydraulic— you get it or any combo..signal to change /do a job. from a total unrelated source of differant properties or source in this case….Sorry about rambling but trying to make clear and know Peter deals with elcet over hydraulic all time in his business. same principle in the control top on the r-14 top and supply to brake chamber bottom from main brake supply.

I believe the tag axle lift only disables the service brakes to the tag. Does Peter’s 40 foot coach even have emergency brakes on the tag? I know my 45 foot had, but my 40 footer did not.

Yes it could be the relay valve leaking down. With the emergency brakes applied no air should be getting past the valve to the brake, but it could leak to atmosphere because I think it functions as a quick release valve as well. Do not know for sure and the above needs to be verified.
