Paint
Over the past number of months I have mentioned that I need some paint work on my 1999 XL. I have received a lot of great responses. Well, I’m finally ready to get the job done. Since I live in Ohio I’ve tried to stay as close as possible. People recommended Precision Painting in Bremen, Indiana. I called them, but they have quit doing outside jobs and only paint for new manufactured coaches. There was also a recommendation for Star Jet in Columbus, OH. If anyone has used them can you let me know about your experience. I’m checking with them and TAOD in Elkhart, Indiana. Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated.
I had inquired about re-clear coating. My research has found that when the clear coat is sanded off it can damage the paint, and if re-clear coated over, does not always result in the best job. It appears the least expensive way is to sand down the clear coat and paint over the existing paint job with the same exact design and color. If you want to change the design or colors, it’s best to strip off all the paint. Since I plan on keeping the same design, i will probably go with sanding off the clear coat and then painting over all existing paint.
Comments and suggestions are very welcome.
Thank you all your past responses, and everyone have a great Christmas and New Years.
