Hi Art paint stripper would be your best choice. They make abrasive pads that attach to a drill . Not recommended for stainless. It might 2 or 3 applications depending on how thick the paint is.

Be aware when you do strip the paint (Craig’s advice is spot on) the stainless beneath it will be a brushed finish and you are going to have to bring that finish to a mirror polish. Easier said than done, especially given the light gauge material used for the skin on the rear doors.

I’ve been working on the paint removal 1 side done 1 side to go. Door and tail light bezel.

Finally good enough, 2nd time around looks good 1st time when i hit it with the white wheel for the final a lot of scratches showed up so I went over it again with the cut and then the final step. Jon was right when he said polishing stainless is an art and I’m not quite there yet.

Back when I had a real job in the metal fabrication industry it was obvious that skills had to be developed over a long period of time, and just because you could watch a metal polisher or a TIG welder or a paint sprayer and understand what they were doing, it did not mean you could pick up the tools of the trade and do them.
I remain in awe of talented craftsmen that take a skill and make it look so easy that anyone can do it. Those are the guys who don’t even look like they are working to achieve their results.

Art,
As mentioned, you did an excellent job.
I have to ask, why did you want to remove the paint?
