I can only tell you my experience. I have a 1991 Prevost LeMirage that was used as a casino runner in Las Vegas. It was never used as an OTR transport but it nonetheless had the typical white paint band down both sides and across the front and rear. Since I am converting it into a motorhome, I needed the paint stripped to repaint the bus. Several alternatives are available from chemical strippers to power washers. I chose to use a local contractor who used baking soda to strip the paint. His charge was $800 for 5 hours of work. Afterwords the bus had to washed 5 or 6 times to remove all the soda residue before the company would paint it. It was a very effective techique and did not harm the SS sides. My second choice was an enviromentally sensitive chemical stripper that could be applied by paint roller then use a power washer to remove the residue. The stripper is available online but the cost would have been considerably more, close to $2,000, than the soda stripping. However, it was something I could do myself. I am happy with what I did. YMMV.

One of the things that comes to mind is of course the different shading under the painted parts. One of the advertisers

here is Almost Chrome.

Maybe they have some experience with the paint removal and polish so all looks the same.
