I have seen this before and had to try it. You need a fairly thick can. However the scary part is that it works. I did it on a master lock and a no name lock. It was harder on the master. If you really want security it’s a key lock for sure. I have not tried it on a key lock. A key lock appears to be much different in design and does not allow the clearance for it to work.
