Posted by Dorel on September 14, 2019 at 6:00 pm

Hello, looking for suggestions / recommendations for overnight around Lexington, KY, just of I 75, on our way to Florida…checked the PC map, none marked up…

    Appreciate your input.

    Thank you!

Look at Kentucky Horse Park. They have a RV park. Not sure if they have any pull through sites. It’s just on the north side of Lexington, right off of I-75

There is a very nice new Cabala’s on the south side of Lexington right off 75 exit 108. Big lot with RV area. Does have a lot of those damn islands but had no trouble getting around with the towed. Stayed there overnight two weeks ago.

The RV parking at Cabellas is pull through and they even have a dump station.

Last time I was at Kentucky Hoarse Park tree’s were a big problem. The RV crowd loves big, bushy, low hanging tree’s for shade.

    Thanks for all input…

Checked Horse Camoground, no pull thru and low hanging trees/branches on most lots, anyway no availability for when we would arrive.

Cabella’s sounds good, lots of island in the parking lot, satellite views are old, during construction time frame.

There is also a Walmart one exit prior to Cabella’s, called, no issues for overnight(not a 24 hrs store) but satellite shows lots of trucks parked there.

Will look further for a campground off I75, really don’t want to drive more than 5 hours in that afternoon, doing this to avoid Atlanta traffic in the afternoon next day. Need to get thru Atlanta between 12 – 2pm…last year we lost 2 hours there, accidents thru downtown and 285 during afternoon traffic.

If no alternatives, Cabella’s will be the stop for the night.

    Thanks again!

The Cabellas is an easy in and easy out. Go east at the 108 exit to the light past Costco. Turn left and go to the street between Costco and Cabellas. Turn right behind the restaurant to get to the Cabellas entry, and stay to the left of the building, and alongside the building are the RV spaces. When leaving you just pull ahead, go behind the building and then towards the front to exit.

It is sheltered in the RV spaces from traffic like at a Walmart.

We just stayed at Whispering Hills RV Park, right off I-75 in Georgetown,KY ( just south of Lexington) I can only recommend the Premium/deluxe pull through sites. Most other sites are not really Prevost “friendly”

When I’m headed south from Buffalo, NY I always stay at the Cracker Barrel on I-64/I-75 2220 Elkhorn Rd, Lexington, KY 40505. Always get the Haddock dinner with the best tarter sauce in the world, and Mama’s pancakes for breakfast. Eat 1 pancake and freeze the other two.

Easy off and on and parking for the coach and toad in the back.
