Parts due to arrive Friday, hope to install Saturday , test and hope give good update.

Good thing, no oil in coolant or external block leaks which would lead me to further investigate blown head gasket or cracked block.

Scary thought here. Do any conversions have overvoltage protection from Generator going over 120 volts like mine did to 162 volts ? This could of been a disaster !

Finally installed new thermostat & voltage regulator. All is back to normal.Note that voltage pot is very sensitive to adjust. Loaded it up for @ 30 mins, temp steady @ 170F, Inv 1= 118v / 23amps & Inv 2 =121v / 11amps. No load Inv 1=120v & Inv 2 = 121v. Ordered both parts from Kumar Bros.com. Much better prices than Power Tech with free shipping.

The voltage regulator wasn’t related to overheating was it?

No. Think that was just coincedental. I noticed one other time one phase of the 240vac went to 129 volts ,then went back normal for several months.
