Our gear oil analysis report
Looks good to me.Report is on the Amsoil severe gear 75w-90 gear oil that’s 9 yrs old with 43k miles out of our 96 Liberty XL40′. This gear oil formulation has changed in the past 9 yrs, that is why the lab flagged Boron & Zinc. Silicon (Si) may be a little high because when I changed the drive axle inner hub seals a couple of yrs ago I probably went a little crazy with the silicone sealer.The lab told me their avg iron (FE) pmm in differentials is 260.I changed the gear oil, with 12 qts of Amsoil Long Life 75w-90 and 6 qts of their Severe Gear 75w-110Here’s Meritors maintenance manual for “Preventative MX and Lubrication:
