  • OTR Compressor oil level

Posted by Chuck & Katrina on December 21, 2019 at 8:13 am

Just had my OTR shaft seal replaced at Prevost Winter Garden. When I picked up the bus I checked the oil level in the sight glass and it was foamy and near the low mark. I questioned the level with the mechanic before departing and was instructed to always allow 1/2 hour of running before checking oil level in compressor. Sure enough the oil was at the full mark with very little foaming after 1/2 hour of operation.

Never could find any specific info in the manuals as to checking the OTR oil levels other than check the oil level in the sight glass.

    Hi Don:

Just following up from that previous post. Never had a definite answer from any manuals as to when to check the level.
