  • Open Roads missing locations

Posted by Bill on August 20, 2022 at 6:20 pm

I am traveling from Minot. ND to Los Angles and was surprised to see that the Open Roads app showed there were NO TA’s or Petro locations anywhere on I-94/I90 West of Bismark, ND on our way to Butte. It does not show a TA or participating fuel center until you get down I-15 into Utah! There are Pilot / Flying J locations all along the route (not on the app, of course) but that’s about it. SURPRISE, I did a search for truck stops along I-94 and there is a TA in Laurel, MT, right along our way. It was also an easy in and out and was a great place to scrub all those bugs that love the sunflowers off our windshield!

I am noticing a similar situation on I10 west of central Texas. If you find a place but it’s not in the app, how are you figuring out the price?

Turns out, despite it being a T/A, it is considered “Out of Network” and I actually got charged an additional $10 instead of getting any kind of a discount.

I guess T/A , Petro is not really T/A Petro when it comes to this service.

Probably worth a follow up with TSD support.
