One week and counting…….
Well, we’re down to one week before we pull out and start the journey south. We’ve decided to spend 3 nights in the driveway of my rental home in Flint (which has 50 amp power) and use it as a launching point to visit lots of family over Christmas. The day after, we plan on leaving and driving the 9 hours to Nashville where we will spend a couple of nights before heading to St. Augustine.
Today, I woke up to about 6 inches of MORE snow in my driveway and as I posted before, my driveway is challenging enough to get out of in the summer let alone with the snow and ice. Thought I would pick up several bags of salt to make the incline a bit easier to get out of and I used the big tractor this morning to make sure the snow mounds where well out of my way. I’m counting on the weight of the bus to get me out and lots of salt. The hardest part of my ride is always the driveway!!
Anyway, wanted to wish everyone a merry christmas and happy new year. We are looking forward to the Tampa rally. We will be arriving on the first and staying for the entire week, hope I can get a spot early that will be near all of you. Safe travels everyone.

What about using sand and kitty litter? I just hate the use of salt as it damages the underneath so much. But most likely, you will hit salted roads unless the sun comes out and melts and dries 1-75 from flint to where you head west for Nashville. Where are you staying in Nashville?

Yea, I thought about sand since we live on the beach here but the sand is like concrete now…..Since I’ll be on the road for one day only when we hit Nashville, I will have someone come out and clean the coach and blow the underside to remove the bulk of road grime and salt. Once we get to our site in Florida I’ll do it again myself.
We are staying at the KOA on Music Valley Drive. We like to book the supersite since it is concrete and has a patio in the event of rain. Two Rivers, and Jellystone are all gravel and dirt roads and sites and we’ve done that before in rain and it is a mess. Gonna go to the gaylord, opry, opry mills mall and the wildhorse just to unwind from family and the holidays.
