On road issue
Heard thumping noise, got louder and louder. Pulled over front disc brke smoking. Spinning tire on jacks showed drag part way around.
Pass said back off adjustment screw. Did two clicks, no drag. My question is what may have caused drag in the first place. Haven’t done anything in last 2000 miles of driving.

Do you have self adjusting (automatic) slack adjusters?

Greasing the calipers the wrong way with the wrong grease can do that.

I have knorr bremske sb 6000/7000 series. Book says they are self adjusting. No mention about dragging with self adjusters.

Sorry. Prevost parts manual, p. 873, indicates Prevost started installing Knorr Bremse brakes at bus# T-5873. I assumed your bus# was earlier than that and would have Meritor ADB1560 brakes. I know nothing about Knorr Bremse brakes.

I had a later model than the 1996 and it had Meritor. Does your bus have discs all around or drums on the drive?

My 96 Liberty is on a 95 XL40′ chassis, S-5665. Meritor cam drum brakes on drive and ADB1560 on steer & tag.
I had 2000 & 2002 Monaco Signature MHs that had disc Meritor ADB1560 brakes on all three axles
