Olympic Penninsula
Am heading to Washington State and thinking of exploring Olympic Penninsula. Any info on parks, road routes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pretty much only one road around the Olympic Pensinsula, i.e. Hwy 101. Can be busy with log trucks but otherwise not bad. I have driven with cars and motorcyle but not yet the coach.
Definite places to visit are
– Lake Quinault Lodge (use Jeep to explore forest)
– Kalaloch Lodge (nice picnic area)
– Hoh Rain Forest (use the Jeep to explore Olympic National Park),
– Cape Flattery (furthest point west)- keep coach in Neah Bay.
– Drive up to Hurricane Ridge from Port Angeles with your tow car. Amazing views. (They had some spectacular RV accidents coming down the mountain due to brake fading-use the Jeep).
– Take the ferry to Victoria BC – highly recommended. Just go as passenger, the ferry Coho drops you right down town VIctoria.
– Don’t forget to visit Port Townsend.
Most of the villages along the coast are part of Indian Reservations (La Push, Neah Bay, Hoh, Ozette) but do provide basic services. Fishing and logging are the main industries.
We plan on staying in South Beach NPS Campground. Essentially dry camping directly on the ocean.
Should be a great trip – we might go this August too.
