Older 60 series info
Just finished a conversation with a fellow RVer while in Branson MO. He has just recently retired from the Army and is teaching heavy equipment repair to the military as a civilian now. He said the military still has a large amount of Detroit 60 series (approx 1998 – 2010 vintage) still in service, and it is one of the military mechanics favorite engines.
If Detroit is still supporting the older military equipment that means we should still have parts support for quite a few more years.

As long as we don’t have to pay government prices, that sounds good… 😀

The M915’s have 60 Series in them.
There were/are a lot of M917/M1120 HEMTT’s, PLS’s, M113’s, etc with 2-strokes in them. Not sure how many are still in service, they went to a Cat motor for the A4 model HEMTT/PLS.
