  • OK, I will admit it…

When it comes to mechanics I have 2 left hands. We were all set to leave Camp Coach Worx in Clearwater before 0800 this morning to drive North to attend to som business in MA and NH. When I commenced to hook-up the toad to the bus, I managed to break the electrical socket on the toad, the one which is the receiver for the umbilical cord that connects the bus to the toad.

I looked at it. For a while and tried to figure out what to do. Coach Worx, now Parliament Coach, is closed on Saturdays.

But, it turned out to be our lucky day because Rick May decided to stop-by and he did immediately go to work on fixing our electrical socket issue. I learned that they do have these sockets in stock and a new one was installed in less than 30 minutes.

While working on this problem, I remarked to Rick that I thought I may have an issue with the generator. It was running for a while already but was not providing any AC to the bus systems.

He looked around and commented that he did not hear the blower running and immediately went to the generator bay to see what was going on. That is when we discovered that the anti freeze over-flow bottle was spitting its contents all over the inside of the bay. The generator was over-heating!

Luckily, we discovered this problem just in time to prevent other problems from happening.

Rick determined that the breaker that controls the blower had been left in the off position by mistake (when they were servicing it the day before).

After the generator cooled down and the anti-freeze was added, the generator started-up just fine and put through AC to the bus systems. If Rick May would not have been there, we would very likely have driven off with a jury rigged connection between the bus and toad, believing that the genset issue would resolve itself. Another important lesson learned. Take Rick May along on every trip.

    …:-)

    Just kidding.

In any event, Rick spent considerable time on his off-day to help us and this is just one more reason for why I do highly recommend Coach Worx/Parliament when it comes to service!

I am writing this at 2300 hours from the “South of the border” RV campground.

Thanks, Rick! We would not have come this far without you!

    Chheers,

    Ronald

Ron, nothing to admit. We not only trust these guys implicitly, but rely on them as well. It seems that Rick and Ben are always available either by phone or in person. Thanks guys.
