Oil change
I just did my 2 nd oil change a little early but were leaving on a trip so I changed the oil and filters, Drained oil and filled new filters and then added total 10 gallons of oil and ran engine and it is a little over full on dip stick, if it is a tad over full is that OK ??

Is it a standard thread or special. If standard maybe the local plumbing supply house has them.
Really confused as to how that could have happened because standard procedure for installing filters says to spin on (by hand) and when the gasket makes contact with the surface go 3/4 of a turn, which does not require a tool.

You have probably over filled the oil capacity with a total of 44 quarts of new oil. …. it had some oil remaining in the engine in all probability. When it heats, it is possibly going to try to belch out… watch the oil pressure…. if it is crazy, beware.
I over filled the tranny once and it heated up big time. We stopped in a shopping center and had a mechanic come “release” some of the tranny oil…. it was a mess.

Unlike the tranny which is intolerant of overfilling some overfilling of the engine oil is not such a big deal, to an extent.
At 10 gallons your oil fill is not so far from the required fill that it is worth worrying about. You might vent some from the breather.

Engine dip stick markings are stamped low – space – full. Difference between add and full is 1 gallon usually.
Being a tad over the full mark is no big deal. If you were a gallon over full that would be a big deal.
If that was the case removing one of your oil filters, drain it, reinstall and your good to go.

I wouldn’t put on a dry filter.
