Nylon Air Line
Air line on my ISRI driver seat blew two hours from my destination. Scared the crap out of me. Suddenly sitting on the floor with air blowing on my legs. Was too brittle to splice, kept snapping in new places, so I had to yank the seat and replace the whole segment from height valve to air bag.
Question: Where else is this air line tubing used and at 25+ years of age, do I need to do a mass replacement?

On my seats the tubing was the same as for the air bags and brake lines and everything else.

I was afraid of that. The blue Moose turns 30 next year so I guess I need to add that to the preventative maintenance list.

I’ve not heard of age related brake line hose failures despite age. That does not mean it is not possible, but if it was I am sure there would be a lot of bandwidth associated with discussing it.
My guess is if the plastic tubng is replaced for the seat, to go back to where the air line from Prevost was attached to the air line from the seat manufacturer and all should be OK.

My seat line blew at ETLC as we prepared to leave, last year. Jeff said that wasn’t uncommon in that location, but didn’t raise alarms about elsewhere. Granted, our coaches are 10 years apart, but that is my reference point fwiw.

Had the same screaming airline break a few years back on I-40 and it was a loud ride to the next exit. I capped the line in the steering bay and kept truckin. I didn’t use the air seat anyway. Was a challenge for the compressor to keep up until the exit.

Thanks all. Was hoping it was the constant flexing that caused it. Sure be better if they used something like braided stainless.

Air line to seat at seat is different and tends to age becoming britttle…

mine has broken a few times you will wonder what happened I put a valve in front of seat under slide control now just reach down turn of valve till next stop
