No rivit coaches
Still looking for that dream coach so wondering if the rivit less coaches after 2000 all have the delam problem or could have.I am scared to buy one in case this happens after purchase if the problem has not been repaired.There are tons of them out there so can anyone give me some advice. Thanks in advance

Not all the XLll’s will have a delam issue. I wouldn’t let it hinder which coach you buy. I would do a thorough inspection on the coach though. But that goes for any coach.

Or find one with the delman fix already completed. There are plenty out there that have been fixed. I would not let that factor into my decision to buy..

For anyone contemplating an XLII before money changes hands or any deal is made do one of the following:
Either verify the delam issue has been dealt with by Prevost using the rivet process and vertical joint cover strips, or take the coach to a Prevost service center for a comprehensive inspection and an appraisal on the cost of repairs (if any are needed) and how much Prevost will contribute.
Failure to do the above can prove expensive.

If you are looking at coaches and it has not been done. If you have it done and is reported to be fine (not sure that happens) does that mean that particular coach will never have the issue, or does it mean it currently is good but could develope an issue down the road.

I am not sure of the particular production year, but very late model XLII coaches do not have an issue. I would still verify that.
If it is an older XLII and it passes inspection at Prevost the chances are high it will not have an issue.
If it has rivets, no issue at all.
I have a coach that had skin repairs to the production standards currently employed. My repairs just preceded the rivet repair. I have been watching it like a hawk and for my 3.5 years of ownership I don’t have the slightest sign of an issue, nor do I expect one. But I am not ever going to tell anyone that a coach without the rivet repair is always going to be OK if it is OK now. On the other hand I think the few coaches that did have the issue have since been repaired and if others never had an issue the risk of a coach with delam is likely small at this point.

What is a ballpark estimate for the cost of inspection from a Prevost service center?

When I had mine pressure tested in the summer of 2013 at Jacksonville it was under $2000 Darrell

Have had the delam problems. Only $30-45,000 to fix, figure that in with your offer. Have had several people that fix them say ” Its not if but its when”
