  • No Rally Rally & Mini’s

Posted by Archived on October 29, 2014 at 10:23 am

OK boys and girls, it’s time to make something happen for 2015. This is member driven stuff, so how about some thoughts…

Hilton Head – Bill was working on that

    Sevierville, TN at Twin Rivers

    Florida Springtime

Vegas to coincide with Prevosts Nascar deal (if we ever get anymore info)

    Belle Terra in AL Springtime

New England to coincide with Marathons Quebec rally in September

Upstate NY near Syracuse to caravan through Canada for Marathon in Quebec

    Upper Michigan in the summer

    Breckinridge in summer

Pick something you would like to do and get a mini or No Rally Rally going….

    Dang….

That all looks good to me !!

Does anyone have any ideas as to where to stay in Albuquerue, NM for the balloon festival, the Presidents compound is already full and it seems all the decent spots are taken all over that place.

Are their any surrounding RV parks around that would be good or does anyone have any magical words for securing a good spot on the grounds. I called the second day after the reservations openned up and they said it was sold out…. wow and this is a year in advance.

If we could find a good park maybe we could get a group together for this event !!

Appreciate any ideas as we’ve never even been in the area.

    Thanks and Cheers, Diane

Phil & I continued west from OKC (after visiting Prevost/ Ft. Worth) and attended the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. We stayed at American RV Resort and drove in to the Balloon park in the morning for mass ascension with an upgraded (Gondola Club ) ticket. Parking was very easy coming from that side of town. This worked for us as I hate dry camping. We liked the park – easy parking, large sites, good electric. Also a nice view from the west ridge of town. Talk to them now if you want the first weekend.

We have dry camped at the Sandia casino for the last 5-6 years. It is paved with plenty of room about a mile or so from the balloon field. Everywhere else close by is either dirt or gravel. Casino parking lot is at a higher elevation than the balloon field and you can sit in your chair in front of your coach and watch as well. Best of all it is free.

We currently live in central Florida and think a Springtime mini-rally is a good idea.

Snowbirds start leaving in early April so mid-April might work.

Not too far from I-75 is Williston Crossing RV park – a 10/10/10 facility with a large clubhouse and nice sites – including a few pull-throughs. http://www.willistoncrossingrv.com/ (may have to type it in).

Small old Florida town not too far from Gainesville FL and a nice central location. We were there last year during the world famous (they wish!) Williston Peanut Festival and had a great time.

Look at it on the map – maybe a stop on the way out of Florida in mid-late April?

I always looked forward to the Oysterfest at Bella Terra… would go in a heartbeat anytime in March 2015.

Good place to have a no rally rally ??

We were just at Bella Terra for the Prouds Rally. Nice Place and facilities and plenty to do nearby. Spring weather would be great, after that, not so much. Don’t forget that Parliament’s Rally is Jan 5-9. It’s always one of the funnest rallies of the year. Plus the dates are in conjunction with the used bus expo and Super Show in Tampa. Many people keep their coach parked there after to attend those events. It’s kinda structured like a “No Rally Rally” but with excellent food and drink and very reasonable.
