  • No Hot water from Aqua Hot but plenty of SMOKE!

Posted by Jerry on April 2, 2017 at 4:25 pm

Yesterday, Diesel Aqua hot water worked fine. Today, Turned it on, got in the shower, and water started getting cold. Looked at the switch, and is was out. Pushed it again, it came on, but went out a few minutes later.

I used electric as a back up. I was at a race, so very noisy outside, and couldn’t hear what was going on.

Just got home, and started it, webasto came on, sounded like it ignited the burner, and white smoke came out of the exhaust continuously, so I cut it off.

What does that sound like is going on?

My uneducated guess is that was unburned fuel and my first place to look for answers would be the coil or the point gap to see if you are getting good spark. A second thought would be to make sure the nozzle didn’t drip some fuel instead of creating a mist because I don’t think you can ignite raw fuel very well.

But my opinion doesn’t count. Rudy is the guy who really knows.

    Jerry,

With the Webasto burner firing and creating white smoke (unburned fuel), the number one suspect is the nozzle.

Once the fire is ignited, the coil and ignitor points are off. So, Nozzle.

Rudy, thanks I will go on your website and order. An update, later today, I let it run awhile and it cleared up some but still smoking. Not as bad as earlier.

I placed the order Rudy, thanks.
