No heat from Webasto
And so it starts! We get no heat in the coach from the Webasto. Turned on the 12 V and 110 V switch in the bedroom, and truned on heat on the SMX control. We can hear the Webasto firing up, and the Webasto exhaust is hot, but there are no fan running inside. All circuit breakers are on, and the Marathon manual was no help. Any suggestions?

are the hoses to the heater getting hot? If not is there any valves that are turned off in the coolant circuit? If the hoses are hot is there 12v or 120v on the heater fan terminals? If not recheck circuit breakers or switches. Is there a GFI in the electrical circuit that may be popped.

When you did the coach inspection did it work then. What does the seller tell you about why it won’t work?

Check your thermostats. If they are set to a low temperature, or the
switch on the bottom of the thermostat is off, the blowers will not operate. -
Per, Not to be insulting, but you did “double click” the heat button on the SMX control, right?

Sure did, Tim, and I hear the Webasto running, but no fans come on.

The 110v is the kick heaters, they will work on the SMX thermostat (double tap) or could have a switch like in the bathroom.
The 12v heat is the Webasto controlled by the SMX by double tapping as you already know. It’s easy to mistake the 12 water heater switch with the 12v heat switch. That would have the Webasto running to heat your hot water and you wouldn’t be getting any heat fans running.

This is a general comment to those new to a Prevost coach and those in the process of buying one.
Apparently some, if not all converters set up the controls in a fashion that is not intuitive for some systems or devices. Right now Per is struggling to get Webasto heat into the house. My guess is that nothing is wrong because I assume when he has pushed the right buttons multiple fans will begin working. I am also assuming the simultaneous failure of multiple fans is unlikely which leads me to my first assumption.
The message is that some how every new owner needs to know and understand the systems before driving away with the new coach. This is not a Marathon issue only. If I am to operate any of my Cruiseairs I have to have the circuit breaker on, the Crestron requires me to push a button to get the SMX pad alive, and then I can operate the SMX pad to get the Cruiseair to work. Even then I need to make sure I not only turn the Cruiseair on at the SMX pad, I need to select the temp and push a button to get heat or cool.
There must be a reason why we have multiple buttons to push all located in multiple locations in the coach. But until any of us knows which ones, and where they are we are not going to make whatever we want to work operate.
Getting back to Per’s issue, if the button pushing advice does not resolve the issue, then it could be a failure somewhere in the system and it could be as simple as a switch not making contact or a failed relay. Can someone “walk” Per through the correct button pushing sequence and let him know what happens as each is selected so he has some way to see where the system has failed if he still cannot get it to work?

Ditto what Tom said. Sounds like Webasto is heating your water and the SMX controls are powering up the toe kick heaters.

The Webasto is running fine after I turn it on. The radiator behind the squirrel cages heat up, the hoses going to the engine get hot (shutoff valves are open), but no fan action. I’m thinking there must be a relay somewhere that doesn’t signal the fans to come on. OTR heat and AC is working fine from what I can tell so far. Will service the engine and tranny tomorrow.

Give Marathon a call because with the information you have about everything working but the fans it is probable there is a single point failure that they can pin point quickly.
