I had the same thing happen to me. It’s has only happened to me once. I don’t think Tom believed me either. Maybe, they are just messing with us CC owners. I know when I logged in the next time it worked.
I’ve had a few glitches with this site, but they seem to go away. Just this morning I couldn’t access anything on this site. All I got was a SQL error. That too, went away in time.

The site was down this morning for a while, it was being worked on at 7:30 when Jon and I contacted our web guy.
Buddy – When this has happened before with the edit/reply button is was because of a capitol letter or a lower case being used in either the username or password, since it’s all case sensitive. We can’t seem to duplicate it so our guy can fix the problem. It lets you sign in, but then won’t allow certain functions because it thinks you are not the user. Some have had this problem and most have not, but we do know it happens. Wish we were setting under the awning with your Ipad so we could nail it down.
We’re trying…
PS – It may be a CC thing!:)

I either use my iPhone or iPad and have never had that problem , but once in awhile the site might be getting some work done don’t panic it will clear up give it time like this morning it’s one of the best sites run , no problems with it Jon and Tom thanks for such a great site and all your hard work I no it’s not easy Thanks Thanks !!!!!!!!

We have the site set up so it plays random head games with CC owners.
Just kidding guys.
As Tom said the site was down yesterday, and for a few weeks it was messing with my email which goes through the server for the admin and my personal PC email. According to our web guy one possible explaination is hackers are overloading it and making it crash among other things. As of yesterday he thinks some new code he has written will autiomatically reset everything within a minute after a problem. So the short version is the site has had issues and has had a lot of work done to it in the recent weeks.
But Tom’s comment about passwords and user names is valid. From the beginning both the password and user name have been case sensitive so if you are having any unexplained trouble check first to see if the system sees you as having logged in. The black box at the upper left of the screen will display “Welcome XXX”. If you are not logged in you will be seen as a guest. But since Buddy posted, and the edit function was not displayed it indicates there is a problem because only members who are logged in can post, and once logged in they can edit their posts. I will try to determine if there is a “time out” on the edit function so a member loses the ability to edit a post after a certain period of time or if the ability goes away after someone responds to a post.
If any of you experiences glitches like that let us know. There has been so much work on the site since we moved to a new server it is possible something got affected.

In my case, I was properly logged on.
You can log on regardless of case you use for your user ID. Only your password must be case sensistive. But, you can only edit a post if the user ID case matches your original user ID. You can see the case you are logged on with on the top of the page and what your proper user ID is by looking at the user posted on any of your posts. It appears the only thing you can’t do while looged on with the improper case is the edit function. This is a bit weird, so check your user ID.
One feature I’d like to see improved is the one that let’s you look at new posts since last logged in. It works as it should, but I would recommend a timer be added. If you log out or your connerction drops before you review new posts, then the function is reset. Many sites put timers on this function so that after a given time of being off-line the new post holder is not reset.

The feature that highlights unread posts erases those highlights if you are logged in, and then close out the site. I guess we need to know if that is OK for all of you, and if not what you would prefer to see.
Tom and I read every post every day. Not all of you want to do that so what works for us may not be ideal for you members. Give us your thoughts.
