Newbie – Dash light question
Hi All,
I am new to Prevost ownership having purchased my Vantare H3 in October and a proud owner to say the least. I’ve had three coaches, the last being an ’07 HR Navigator and to say the Prevost is in a class of its own is an understatement for sure. The ride and handling is unbelievable and I was sold the first few minutes behind the wheel. My wife Janet on the other hand, was sold the first few minutes she stepped up into the interior.
As many have stated on this site, these things can be quite intimidating and having the expertise and patience of everyone on this site willing to share their experience is invaluable. We are still trying to figure out how to get the cable feed on our tv’s to work never mind the in-motion feature. I’ve been reading manuals and have subscribed to the Prevostcar site as well to get as much help as I can. I’m sure that with additional time and mileage and trolling and asking questions on this site, we will get more familiar and comfortable with all these coaches have to offer.
Anyhow I’ve been trying to find a diagram that describes all the lights and indicators found on my dash. I have most of them figured out but there is one indicator to the left of the steering column that almost looks like a snow plow pointing up. I can’t seem to get it to light-up and can’t find a description of this or any of the dash lights anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

Congratulations on your Purchse Mike, you found the right place to get information and support from owners. Not being familiar with Vantare, I’ll let those folks chime in here.

I would suggest you look at Amadas ad on this site and communicate with them you need for information relating to your coach. They are likely to be who you will turn to for hard questions and they have definitely got the expertise.
But I am certain the Vantare owners on this site will also offer help and advice.

Mike, I have an H3 Vantare, if you could post a picture of what you are seeing, showing the switch or light, maybe I could help.
Are you talking about the annunciators for each item that light up when you turn they key on, right by the outside temp. Or somewhere else.

The light is located to the left of the steering wheel column about half way down and the best way I can describe it is it looks like a snowplow blade, pointing up. This is rather crude but it looks something like this ____/. I will try to get a picture of it and post it as soon as I can.
Is there a picture of the dash from both the left and right sides of the steering wheel anywhere with a description of each switch and/or light? I have tried to find one but with no success.

If you can try to post a photo. In the Prevost owner’s manual which you can access via their web site starting here: http://prevostparts.volvo.com/technicalpublications/en/manuel.asp
The problem is converters almost always modify the dash to add switches or gauges, and sometimes completely alter the layout so unless someone has your exact model conversion we cannot help without a photo.

Mike, I looked mine over, even with the lights in “test” mode which makes them all light up at one time. I don’t see what you are describing.
None of my rocker switches resemble that either.
Bet Jon could tell you, if you can post a picture.

I was out on Prevost site downloading some manuals for my files and thought of your question. Below is a link to the manual for a 2009 chasis. This will show you the Prevost switches but not the Vantare added equipment.

The Prevost link you sent showed what the dash light is although mine is on the left side and the link showed it on the right. It is just the drivers illumination light, which only works when the key is on, I assume so that it won’t be left on by mistake when leaving the coach. Any how – mystery solved.
Thanks for the help and I only hope my numerous future questions will be as easy and painless to resolve.
