Hello,
We have been members of this forum for several years. Having had a Newell and Renegade we just purchased a 40` 1995 Marathon. This was a California coach with 85000 miles. Also had a new DD60 engine installed at 75000 miles. We just picked the coach up in Las Vegas and drove home to Nebraska. No issues except new fuel filters in Arizona. I have attended a Prevost seminar in the past and was very impressed with the coaches. Looking forward to input on minor issues. Thank you in advance for your help!

Any idea why it would have needed a new engine at such and early age?

If you don’t change coolant as an example it is completely reasonable to ruin an engine quickly.

I’ll try to answer a few of these questions.
The engine was replaced due to throwing a rod. I know a few early60 series had a wrist pin problem but I can’t be sure that was the issue.
I believe this is coach 421 according to the VIN number.
