I’ve read all the threads on Michelin tires. Before I place my order I would just like to summarize my plan and verify that all will be well.

My coach is currently at Marathon in Oregon getting updated and correcting most of the items that needed reworking on the PDI. With all the work that I’m having done, Marathon went out of their way to give me a real deal on 8 new tires. However, they could not match the Michelin Advantage discount program offered through Prevost Community. From Superior Tire in Eugene, four 365s and four 315s will cost a total of $5,460 installed…no sales tax. They drive up to Marathon where they will pull the wheels off in Marathon’s lot, install and balance the new tires back at their shop, and return to Marathon to put the tires back on.

I’ve read a variety of opinions on balancing the tires but I’m going with Jon’s recommendation of using Equal. Superior Tire says that they’ve changed 600 truck tires in the past year using their balancing machine and adding weights without a problem and Equal is not really necessary. I insisted on Equal and they’re fine with that. I guess the question is, should I have the tires balanced using their method PLUS a bag of Equal in each tire?

I already had an alignment done previously with the old tires as recommended in Marathon’s PDI. It has not been driven since.

    Thank you.
