Scotsman, only you know what is best for you. You know your budget, you know what kind of effort you are willing to put into the Bus yourself with your own hands, and after reading these forums by now you know that an older bus for sale is going to take some $ to get it road worthy. When I started looking at Busses back in 2020, I looked for the cheapest 1990 or newer I could find. Knowing that I would need to put in many days of effort and $ to get the bus where I wanted i t to be. I am very happy with my decision.

Thanks Mike,
My wife and I really like the look, comfort, safety and robustness of a Prevost. We’ll stay on the hunt. If it was just up to me, we’d sell our stick and brick and buy a really nice coach.

The 40′ coaches are hard to find and generally priced higher than the 45’s. We needed to stick with a 40′ as our life style requires it but if you don’t think you “must” have a 40′ coach you can likely do better with the glut of 45’s that pop up on a regular basis.

Bill, a 45′ is attractive to me but my wife doesn’t want to be limited on where can set up camp, so to speak.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the approximate cost to rebuild an 8V92 engine? How about the cost of a new engine?
Dick, I hear you on the propane thing. I’m a retired fire fighter/fire inspector. Propane definitely has its hazards.

I had American Fleet in Springfield, MO do mine a number of years back. You can actually provide them with your engine serial # and they can have one built and ready to go when you get there. It’s about a 2 day swap and you have a new rebuild in place. They charge about 1/2 what you would pay elsewhere. Today I would suspect that would be around $20,000. For me, being able to get in and out in a matter of days was worth the price alone.
