New furniture
Our bus had been designed to serve as a mobile video production facility for a church, as well as accomodations for the pastor and family while on the road. I speculate that the desire not to appear too fancy is behind the incognito exterior. The kitchen, bath and bedroom are all typical of a high end conversion (although minimalist in style), but the bus had a long corian counter or desk extending from the driver’s seat to the kitchen, and has tons of now outdated audio and video equipment. As we continue to mold the bus to our liking, we installed a sofa in place of the long desk, retaining the forward end as an end table to match the one on the street side. We also added a new booth dinette in place of the chairs, retaining the built in extending table. We also saved a large computer desk that fits between the kitchen and the new sofa on the driver side. Everything fit in through the entrance door but it took a bit of muscle, removal of grab rails, some skinned knuckles and a few bad words. Well, maybe more than a few. I think the huge piece of corian desktop that we removed weighs twice what the new sofa weighs! We still have some finishing work to do, but it is starting to come together.

p.s. In this picture the spotlights on one side of the bus are the original halogens and the other side has the replacement leds. Can you tell which is which?

Thanks Rodger. I like the look of this new one, but all that solid black walnut cabinetry and panelling in the Country Coach sure was special. They really knew what they were doing when they built those. I hope you are still loving yours!

Nice job Bryan! We took out or 13 year old sofa and put a residential dual recliner sofa in, so I can relate to the busted knuckles.

Great transformation! Really like the dinette booth seats.
Can’t tell any difference between the halogens and LED’s…..we are in the process of changing ours and are amazed at the light those little 1″ discs throw out, and the lack of heat is immediately noticeable!

Would be to talk to Jeff. He has a long time cabinet maker, John who is fabbing a custom couch for us. If you want to look at stuff to get ideas, then this is not what you want. But if you have a vision then he can probably make it.

Depending on what part of the country works for you, we have lots of folks advertising with us that can help you such as Tradewinds and Parliament as well as others.

We’ve been to the All Prevost show in Tampa twice. In 2016 its going to be held March. 42 Prevost coaches on one floor, inside for two days. New coaches, used coaches, some coaches that have been remodeled. Most of them are later models (which I’m a little critical of), which is probably good for someone trying to get ideas for changing out furniture and redecorating their coach.
Depending on what you want to change, buying “off the shelf” RV furniture might work. But be careful. Its my understanding the couch in our Liberty (and likely yours as well if original) was custom made by Liberty to fit perfectly in the space and with removal arm rests (have you discovered those yet?) to make the couch more comfortable for sleeping.
Jeff Rowe has done a number of remodels as have the advertisers that Jon mentioned. Probably Forum members who have had their coaches remodeled will chime in with ideas, experiences, and pictures.
