The Rigids are nice….but not cheap and VERY bright, maybe too bright for everyday use. I opted for a $90 pair off eBay…the key is to look for the CREE led’s, not anywhere as bright and well built as the Rigid, but great bang for the buck and waaaay better than the stock ones I had on my XL2!

OK, thanks to Fred’s (Triple Foxtrot) diligence and persistence I am now able to run the new Rigid LEDs from the chassis side and the house side. He had to go the long way around Miss Murphy’s house but to his credit Fred would not quit until he decipered the super secrect code and figured it out.

Here is the back of the switch originally.

The four blades on the left side share no continuity with the four blades on the right side so it is basically two switches operated with one three position toggle. The middle position is off and the up position is on when the ignition is on. With the switch in the down position blades two and three on the left side of the switch have continuity so I put the 12 volt from the house on the second blade and the new switch leg on the third blade.

I also labeled all the existing wires and new wires so it should make sense to whoever follows me or even to myself if I have to get back in there after my memory fades.That should only take a week or so.

So the new LEDs can run from the bus or the house and there is no way to mix them up and have both on at the same time. Thanks, Fred, I could not have figured it out myself. I am supposed to drive Thursday night and I am looking forward to seeing how they do
