  • New 50/30/20 surface mount boxes

Posted by Chris on August 28, 2020 at 6:17 am

    Good morning John,

Hope all is well in Tn and in Jamestown. We got a pretty good storm here last evening about 5:30 with several trees down around Clarendon and Sheffield.

Would you happen to know offhand if Jamestown still produces the surface mount 50/30/20 box with no light? We are in need of 2 of them and I wasn’t able to find them on their site.

Also, I wasn’t sure if we could buy direct or if we went through a supplier. It’s been a few years since we purchased the last one.

    Thank you,

    Chris

Yes. That is one of the most popular models. Give them a call.

That’s where I got mine. One of the best purchases I’ve made.

They really work well. We have one on our garage and one on another building.

I think the model number for a 20/30/50 surface mount is 20-123 but don’t quote me on that.

I originally bought a 50/30/20 because I was new to this stuff.

I have since upgraded the 30amp to 50amp, Jamestown must do this often as they had an outlet and breaker all wired together. I installed myself. Electrician had the box on a 100amp breaker.

A 20/30/50 box can be switched easily to a 50/50 box. All that is needed is a new 50 amp receptacle, breaker and dead front (the front panel).

The 20 and 30 amp receptacles are on different legs so swapping out parts is pretty easy.
