Need Identity of this Fuel Part
I
have a part on my fuel line that I am not familiar with. The fuel
line comes from the tank, goes through the Davco fuel filter, then to
the pump mounted on the back of the compressor and then to this part
on it’s way to the engine. It has a little knurled cap on the side
that looks like it screws off and there is probably a fitting of some
sort. My thoughts were this might be a setup to pressurize the fuel
to the engine.
Any suggestions?

I do believe that looks like a fuel filter mount with a device (cap) that replaces the fuel filter. On my coach I have 2 filters, 1 is mounted toward the rear of the coach under the compressor. The other one is mounted toward the flywheel end of the engine.

I agree…looks like a capped off filter housing. Maybe not needed because of alternate filtering?? Anyway, that is what I think it is.

That looks like a Racor assembly for fuel filtration and water seperation. Was the Davco standard or a replacement? Is it possible they abandoned the Racor when they installed the Davco?

Best I can tell Ed, it’s original. Maybe John Klopp will jump in here, our build numbers are pretty close. Any bus I’ve had with Racor always stumbled and coughed because of air after replacing the filter. I like the Davco with the filter mounted on top and ease of filling with fuel to keep out air.

It is a spin on filter base with a blockng plate added. Under the knurled cap is a refrigeration fitting through which the fuel system is pressure primed.
This pump is home made from an cheap general purpous sprayer from Home Depot and a refrigeration fill hose from NAPA.

Im in Mt Baldy and the bus is in Nashville. I agree with the others, looks like the top of a Rancor unit with the base sealed off
