Mike, as you have probably learned there are an ample number of opinions here. What you should understand however is none of ours counts regarding your question because we all use our coaches differently.
Having said that, over the years I have seen coaches modified to accomodate kids, pets and mothers in law. The one common characteristic is none were originally built with the modification and the modification could be removed and the coach restored to its original configuaration. So if you do find the coach that fits your needs and which can be modified try to have it such that restoration will be easy.
One thing that seems to be emerging is the market seems to shift toward a younger demographic. No question when you go to a rally there are going to be a bunch of old folks like Tom, but there appears to also be couples with young children who need accommodations for them in the form of bunks. There also has been at least one coach with a bay dedicated to the kids, including provisions for sleeping as well as heat and air, and provisions for watching movies or games or internet access.

This coach was sold to a youngish couple with 2 small kids & 2 frenchies. It has stairs going to the basement. I’m not sure if they’re for the dogs and/or the kids?
I believe Tradewinds Coach & Marine(FL) did the recent mods for the original owner.

Bill, -Thanks for the offer. Marathon has a floor plan that works easily if you can find one (with the walk in closet on between the kitchen and bath) – Im assuming maybe that could be similar to what you have?
– in any event – that is an impressive amount of time with three kids in a Coach!…mine are ready to go home within about 9-10 days….

That may be opne of the coolest ideas (and coaches) Ive seen. That is one custom layout and design. I honestly really like the idea…and my kids would be all over it…. Im assuming the bay is quite tight from weather and fumes?

On RV.net, a fella asked my opinion on a Liberty Coach his friend was wanting to sell. Ron told me that it looks like it’s going to Liberty Coach for evaluation (service, etc.) and may very well go up for sale at Liberty in Stuart, FL.
Here are the particulars: (copy and pasted from a post on RV.net)
I like to get your opinion about the value of an older Prevost coach. I had mentioned it before on this forum and now it looks like my friend may want to finally get rid of the coach.
It is a 2000 45′ Lady Liberty Prevost, with NO slides. It is set up with bunk beds for three kids and had all of the bells and whistles that you could get back in 2000, including in motion TV dome, etc.
It has always been kept in a climate controlled garage that I installed in the large commercial building that I built for him. The mileage on it is approximate 25,000. The exterior looks like it came from the factory with polished stainless and black exterior. I doubt if it has been used in the last 5 years so I am guessing it will need new 10 new tires and new batteries and it will require an update on the electronics, like TV’s etc. Maybe the new owner might have to invest $5,000 in it to get things up to snuff.
Cost new was slightly over $1,000,000 but my guess now is that he would be lucky to find someone to pay $150,000.
I would appreciate any input from you that I could pass on.
So, you might want to check it out as it has bunk-beds. I don’t know Ron personally nor have I ever seen this coach. Just passing on information.

I contacted liberty and they said they are unaware of that coach coming in – and the rep I was emailing with said he knows exactly the coach you are mentioning- as he thinks it is the same one he has personally sold that couple times over the years.He he is going to ask around tomorrow – thanks for the heads up.
Dorel – yes it looks like it is in nice shape. I’m looking forward to seeing it next week.

My understanding is that the 2000 Liberty that I mentioned is a one owner coach.
Ron emailed me to say that he or the owner (Ron is helping the owner of the coach to get it ready for sale) have spoken to Liberty. Maybe word hasn’t gotten around until the coach arrives.
If I hear anymore, I’ll let you know.

On Edit: The note that Ron sent me states that Liberty is going to send a mechanic to check the coach out in January, then a decision will be made on where to go from there.

2000 Liberty H3 was the winner of my lottery efforts.
I meet some really great people during my search, and I appreciated each and every one!unfortunately you gotta pick just one, and we pretty much knew it as soon as we walked on / explored/ drove it.
I will I’ll be looking forward to meeting some more of you while out on the road!

lots of stuff done recently – it’s basically zeroed out and in great shape. You can really tell it has stored inside over the years. I think we really looked at 7 this week in its same age or newer overall shape of the interior / exterior stood out.
