  • NC –> Seattle –> NC in 6 weeks?

OK – so here is my “Am I crazy for thinking about it” post

Planning a trip starting from Myrtle Beach June 1st, 2023 to Seattle – drop wife off to meet her parents for a cruise I go camp & telecommute to my day job for a week then drive back to Nv. Planning about 2 1/2 weeks drive time out, another 2 1/2 home.

Will have our 4 dogs that usually travel with us. I tend to walk all 4 on my own often. Been there, done it. No problem. Leaving the puppers at home is not an option.

We prefer Walmart for a one night turn & burn, Harvest Host for a longer rest, campground for more than one night and dump / refill tanks. So having said that here is my tentative plan – please offer alternative stops. I’ll start trying to book the campgrounds in next few days.

1 night Sams Club, Clarksville TN

1 night Bodega Winery (Harvest Host) Glenwood IA

3 nights Custer State Park, Custer SC

    4 nights St Regis MT

8 nights Blue Sky RV Park, Issaquah WA

6 nights Gros Ventre, Grand Teton NP, WY

    1 night Walmart, Laramie WY

2 nights Praire Oasis, Henderson NE

    1 night Walmart Fulton MO

1 night Sam’s Club, Clarksville TN

    Crazy? Fun? Alternative ideas?

Thinking if time allows stop at Mt Rushmore on way out but will see how it goes.

Devils Tower is one of my Favorites in the area.

Been using Cracker Barrel’s for over night stops lately. There are far more Cracker Barrel’s out there than Walmart’s, usually quieter too. Noticed a lot of the Walmart’s have been getting a bit sketchy lately. just got back yesterday from a trip to the NE. There were 6 Cracker Barrel’s off I-95 in the short distance between Savanna GA & Brunswick, GA

Only down side is you will most likely have to disconnect your towed. I would also suggest looking at them on Google Maps satellite view before heading in, some are tighter getting in and out of than others

P.S. I find Cracker Barrel cheaper than Walmart too. A dinner or breakfast at CB ends up being less than all the stupid stuff I end up buying at Walmart that I really don’t need. LOL
