Napa Discount
Posted by Greg on January 17, 2017 at 5:49 pmI am waiting for my new card, so I can use it to purchase batteries. It is questionable if my local NAPA stores honor the card. Last time I went to get oil for the bus one store asked me to fill out a credit form ( I left), the other store gave me a discount but not based on the card (10%).
What discount should I expect if I buy their 31 series thread terminal battery listed at $99.

Jeff, Let me get a few things out of the way today. I’ll call you on a land line so we can talk NAPA.

So I see posts about the NAPA discount, Michelin discounts and fuel discounts but I cannot find info on these programs anywhere. Does it require a secret handshake or something?

If you don’t log in you cannot see the buttons or access the program applications. The programs are only available to registered members who then must log in.

Bill,
If your posting you’re already logged in. You don’t see this at the top of the forum page? They’re buttons, click them.

Thanks! What a concept….Buttons! Sometimes the most obvious things can escape you (or at least me).
Maybe you could add “click here” for us dummies!
Where a company name and address is required, what is used in these fields?

I used my NAPA discount card this past week. I changed the fuel filter on the bus, and also did oil change and filters on my generator. In addition to filters, I had several other things I was buying. The guy behind the counter told me that “these cards are only good for discounts on filters.” That is still a good thing to have, but is that the deal? I got the card because any discount is a good discount. Never knew what it would apply to.

Dale,
The NAPA card is good on hundreds of items. Example, today we purchased 4 new 31 series starting batteries.
Savings over $500 “per” battery, using the NAPA-AITA card.
I’am sorry to hear things like that being told to customers… that it’s only good for filters is totally untrue.
When you show your NAPA-AITA card the counter man needs to follow the info on the back.
What he is after is the code. On our program it’s ..31999.
The only other thing is if this store is independent and the owner wishes not to participate in the program.

Thanks Al. I’ll definitely do some checking around for NAPAs that want to fully participate in the program.

Used the NAPA program for the first time today.
Had to get a battery for the wife’s truck. Optima Red Top battery with $300 off the already low price (compared to Autozone and other auto parts stores). The NAPA guy even knew what the program was and how to apply the discount.
Thanks Jon and Tom for setting this up!

Big Al has to get the credit for that bonus.
The Wanderlodge Group gets credit for the Michelin program.
Tom and I and especially Alicia of Profit Tools will take credit for the fuel program. But what is really important is by working together with everyone we can get these benefits. Still working on another one.

I paid $110 for Napa Commercial Group 31 a couple of years ago. It lists online now for $129. $99 is not a bad price

Common items like batteries and fluids, the discount is nominal, but better than the “preferred customer” discount. But wait until you buy air filters. Holy Cowm what difference
air filter #2222 for our previous coache’s gen set filter
full retail-$720
normal selling price-$57
preferred customer price $37
napa card-$15.15
