Name That Part!
When I bought my coach it had damage to one of the bay doors and in the area of the rear fender on the driver’s side. I am just now getting around to starting the repairs and have taken a closer look at the fender area. What I thought was an original component now appears to be Liberty add on. See photos below (the two tubes).
While ordering the triangular piece that goes on the fender between the two axles I realized that these two tubes were not in the parts manual. Additionally, the parts manual showed a support brace in this location.
So, what do you all think this is? Is it a Prevost part? A Liberty part? Some other add on? My best guess is it was a place to store the black tank drain hose. Sound plausible? If it is not a Prevost part I am going to remove it. Anybody want it?

On my coach I have what appears to be a Liberty made and installed sewer hose storage tube. My guess is you might want to consider a local fabricator to create a part to fit.

Those are the High Pressure Firing Tubes to discharge black tank contents on to those who insist on riding in your blind spot on the interstate or for those who will not gain enough speed to merge into the interstate when you can not change lanes. Should be a fireing button on the dash. 🙂

I think that Jon and John Kloop were working on a patent for just such a system last fall. I would think they have the necessary parts list and installation instructions almost done by now. Keep an eye out for a posting on it!
Be assured, it will have enough pressure to get the job done!

I only have one tube on each side for the sewer hoses. The only problem is the modern day hose end does not fit the compartment. It is on my to do list to enlarge the end for the larger fittings. I would not remove yours, if I were you, too much work for no gain. Just make a solid cover of SS to cover the fender depresion and attch with SS screws. JIM

I know for sure based on a story told me by a friend that attempts to discharge black water from a coach can have consequences.
My friend in a moment of insanity pulled into the fast lane and was going to empty his holding tank by using the macerator to spray the contents onto the grassy median. He successfully emptied the holding tank, but at the end of a hot day of driving in the sun he found the air flow around our coaches is strong enough to draw a spray behind the coach where his black tank contents ended up all over his new Grand Cherokee, in the door cracks, in the fresh air vents, etc. Washing his Grand Cherokee merely reconstituted what had been dried on the car making the wash job very unpleasant.

Yes! That ideed is the storage area for the tank hoses. These were install by the convete who aslo modified th3 paralleogram piece you mention to open without raising the fender. Prevot only has a brace ther for fender support.

Also don’t forget about the brain child bus driver that emptied the holding tank while crossing a NewYork bridge.
Problem number one… site seeing cruise ship under bridge at same time. Problem number two…. the bus driver denied the discharge but someone found a camera that had also picked up bridge traffic at exact time outside passengers were sprayed.
Sad but true. I have withheld the well known band that was on the bus. Successfully sued and quietly settled.

That is a torpedo tube if ever I seen one, made for firing taco Tu*** broadside into a coach when you are passing! “Man the torpedo tubes and send a broadside salvo!

Michael, I stand corrected as it was the Kinsei St bridge in Chicago. I was trying to spare Chicago residents just thinking about estimated 800 lbs of waste falling through a grated bridge deck.
For this error I now owe you either 1 dz. rocky mountian oysters or 1 dz regular sliders ?
Maybe by 2013 Michaels will have no memory of this post ?
