More Possible Buyers Education
Posted by Archived on June 9, 2017 at 4:25 pmHypothetically, can I expect a preowned
Prevost dealer (like maybe Legacy or Trawick) to take, or let me take, a coach
to the Dallas Prevost service center for an inspection including a
leak/delamination test prior to purchase? I absolutely understand
that the inspection would be at my expense.Archived replied 9 years, 4 months ago 7 Members · 9 Replies -

I have done so on two previous Prevosts from 2 different dealers. Neither that you mentioned. I would be shocked if they would not assist in that, assuming you had a contract on a coach, and not just kicking the tires.

My coach was consigned thru Trawick and Chris was fantastic about the entire deal, including letting me take the coach to Prevost for an Inspection.

I purchased from Trawick also and he was very helpful and arranged for the coach to go to Prevost.

same goes for Brandon at Legacy. He arranged the delivery to Prevost for the inspection. Was then able to get the work done at his shop more reasonably then Prevost. The inspection was $500 i think

Gdub,
Please clarify what “his shop”
means in this context. Are you saying that “Brandon’s shop” fixed
the items that Prevost identified in the inspection? -
Brandon doesn’t have a shop. He is colocated with a shop that he uses and gets “typically”better rates at.

If what Prevost finds is basic items, any shop that deals with big rigs should be able to deal with it. Axle seals, brake valves, air bags, etc.. Once you get into Prevost specific items, let Prevost or a Prevost knowledgeable shop deal with it. Any dealer/broker/owner in the greater DFW area that isn’t willing to drive the coach to Prevost for an inspection is a dealer/broker/owner you don’t want to deal with. I bought from a place north of Dallas, they drove the coach to Prevost, and had it there when i got off my flight. Had a driver spend all day there will it was inspected… there was no contract, deposit, deal, etc… It was all in good faith.

Yes,
let me clarify, Brandon doesn’t own the repair facility. They share the same building. Basic work, brake pad, alternator leak, some gear box thing for the radiator. some bushings, air bags, The engine issue went to Detroit to fix.
