  • MODERN CAMPING

Posted by needtocamp on July 10, 2016 at 7:08 am

OK, I know using a Prevost to visit state and federal parks is not camping and I am sure we get some ridicule when parked amidst tent campers and folks doing “primitive” camping.

But this morning I saw how even those doing primitive camping are doing the modern version.

My neighbor has some acreage along the river in between our house and the river. Sometimes people use the property which has a canopy type structure for picnics, fishing and boat launching. Last night some campers used the property. They set up their tents, had a campfire and did all the things campers do, like cook over the open fire and commune with nature. This morning they were all outside the tents and sitting around the campfire and instead of cooking breakfast or talking amongst themselves they were all playing on their smart phones. Even the kids who looked like pre-teen aged.
