Microphor Toilet Running Constantly
My Microphor toilet runs constantly when bus is running or when air pressure is built up.
I can hear the water trickling into the black tank under the bus. Had bus stored for a week and had some bad odor in the coach as well. Never had that issue.
There is a constant “running” sound inside the toilet. Once I turn the bus off and it sits for a bit it quits running.
Very interesting. Anyone ever have this issue? If so, is there a quick fix?

Get rid of that micro toilet and put tecma in and forget about it

Since it stops once the water pressure goes down, it sounds like your water inlet valve needs cleaning or replacing.
Also your flapper valve is not sealing completely thus the trickling into the holding tank and source of smell.
There is a rebuild kit for both. I haven’t done it. It does not look too hard, but I imagine it would not be a lot of fun.

Sounds like it quits running when you’re out of aux air.
If you run into a lot of expense with Microphor, the parts are outrageous, Al has a complete toilet.

Just happened to me while I was driving and it sloshed-out on my new wood floor.
Sue at Mullaney and Associates (parts dealer) was very helpful selling me a replacement solenoid which is what the service manual says is the likely fault.

Funny, it only runs at high pressure. I have my aux air pump set at 85 PSI top end, and I don’t hear the noise.
When the bus is on and system jumps up to 110+ PSI it starts making the noise. Very interesting.
Glad to here the solenoid fixed the issue. I was going to attempt to take it apart and see if I could ID the problem.

Can a regular house toliet be put in the bus as a replacment?
If note, what is the cheapest and easiest way to repalce toliet with an in-opt toliet?

That’s a really good question. If your toiled is a direct drop, why wouldn’t a house toilet work even though the water usage would be higher. I suppose the problem would be the size of the plumbing discharge pipe to the holding tank not being large enough to handle the water volume of a house toilet. The other problem is likely the size of the toilet.

House toilets have a different size outlet so adapting one to the coach would be a big project.
But even if mating up to the bus plumbing was not an issue, I would be a little concerned with a toilet tank filled with water that is slopping around, possibly escaping on hard curves or sudden stops or steep driveways. Additionally a toilet with a separate tank (not in one casting) is going to see forces it doesn’t get when sitting in a house. The bus can subject the weight of the tank plus its water to some heavy side forces in sudden stops and I am not sure I would want the risk of that ceramic tank breaking during a sudden stop or accident.

Fill selinoid on my LF220 was chattering and would not stop, and if not watched, overflow. It seemed to be dependent on my water hookup. Called the company to order a new fill selinoid in the event of failure. They said the water pressure should be between 20 and not greater then 45 lbs. Trouble is 30lbs, pressure is to low for everthing else. Installed an inline pressure controller between the petcock on the wall and the toilet. Chattering went away, and now have great water pressure throughout the bus. The LF-220 is an electric model without air pressure to control the toilet.

Some of the best advice I’ve received on this site! The Microphor was a constant problem. Love my new Tecma!
