Posted by Chuck & Katrina on October 26, 2020 at 4:28 pmDoes the Michelin tire service offer better pricing then the National Tire Concierge service and does Michelin offer wheel & tire road hazard?

Michelin stands behind their tires and based on the last information I had, the warranty is prorated for a 10 year period based on tread depth. It used to be on age, but now that tread depth is the unit of measurement that benefits us.
I cannot answer about price.

I believe the tire pricing between the two sources are nearly the same.
But the personal service of Dave and Wendy Ward is hard to beat. I purchased 8 new Michelin tires from Dave for my new to me coach. It has a tag axle which is new feature to me. Not being experienced in utilizing the tag, I left the tag dump switch ON as I pulled out to escape the path of Laura. When I stepped on the brakes, I flat spotted one of the tag tires.
While traveling west on I-10, I called Dave sharing my problem. He called me back in 5 minutes stating Brown Truck tires would have a tire waiting on me when I passed them in about 40 minutes. Brown’s charged $25 to mount the new tire.
Before that I got a call on a Sunday from a Newell owner sharing he was at Buckhorn with a bad 365 and could not leave till he got a new one. He had called all day Friday and Saturday with no one having a tire and stating they could not get one.
We called Dave on Monday. Dave called me about 30 minutes later sharing he would have a tire there on either Tuesday or Wednesday and a provider to install it.
So, I am sure either source will be fine but the personal service of the Wards is right up my alley.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, my experience with NTCS was not good. It is a long story, but I strongly recommend that you require NTCS to provide a quote in writing before proceeding with the transaction. The final bill was about $500 more than I was quoted for two 365s. Most, but not all, of the additional cost was attributable to labor. When I questioned the bill, Mr. Ward explained that the vendor he selected charged NTCS more labor than Mr. Ward estimated. According to Mr. Ward, the vendor would not reduce the bill, so I had to pay the increased costs. Since Mr. Ward quoted the price, selected the vendor, and arranged for the work without any participation from me, I believed that NTCS should have paid the additional cost.
The work was performed at Marathon East (the coach was there for service). The vendor claimed that the tire service employees had to wait to get access to the coach, which resulted in additional labor charges. I spoke to some people at Marathon East whom I trust, and they denied the vendor’s allegation. If there was a problem with access, one phone call to me from my “concierge” would have resolved the issue. Again, I was not informed of any access problem, but I had to pay the bill (plus the additional $90 for NTCS “benefits”).
I used NTCS because it is a PC advertiser. Since Mr. Ward’s initial quote was so competitive, I did not “shop” his price with other tire discount programs. I do not know if NTCS’ “final bill” was competitive. I spent a lot of time trying to persuade Mr. Ward to reduce the bill to the amount he quoted, but he refused to do so. For this reason, I do not recommend NTCS.

NTCS is not an advertiser now. If they pay their outstanding bill I am not sure Tom or I would allow their return.

WOW:
All businesses will will have good and bad reviews, but not paying their advertising bill that brought them business… Something to think about.

Thank you Dick. I keep up with the forum, although I do not post on it very often.
Safe travels, and when you get back to Florida, look me up!
